NINE GEBROE-HAMMER BROKERS DECLARED REAL ESTATE NEW JERSEY’S BROKER ALL-STARS
Livingston-Based Brokerage Firm Most Lauded Multi-Family Investment Brokerage in Annual Honor

LIVINGSTON, N.J., November 14, 2007Real Estate New Jersey, one of the state’s leading real estate trade publications,  recently released its list of annual Broker All-Stars.  Among those chosen for the honor were nine brokers from Gebroe-Hammer Associates, an investment brokerage firm based in Livingston, N.J. The Commercial Brokerage All-Stars were selected based on a combination of deal volume, creativity, impact on the market, impact on their chosen commercial real estate sectors and overall professionalism. With nine honorees, the company had more multi-family brokers recognized than any other firm.

Gebroe-Hammer Associates is one of the tri-state’s most active brokerage firms specializing in the sale of multi-family, retail and commercial investment properties. The company’s All-Stars included: Managing Director Robert Ploshnick, Executive Vice President David Oropeza, Senior Vice President Joseph Brecher, Vice Presidents David Jarvis, Avi Oren and Greg Pine, Assistant Vice President Eli Rosen and Sales Associates Stephen Follman and Jay Lombardo. The All-Star brokers were honored at the Sixth Annual RealShare New Jersey conference held this fall at the Marriott Glenpointe in Teaneck, N.J.

“Gebroe-Hammer is proud of all our All-Stars,” said Managing Director Ken Uranowitz. “Our brokers have been putting together record breaking deals throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. It’s their devotion to client service, extensive market knowledge, hard-core work ethic and negotiating skills that has allowed Gebroe-Hammer to build consistent growth every year since the firm’s creation more than 32 years ago.”

Joseph Brecher, Senior Vice President
Since joining Gebroe-Hammer in 2001, Joseph Brecher quickly became one of the company’s most accomplished salespeople with transactions totaling more than $1 billion in the last four years. With large deals this year such as the $135 million sale of the Lynnewood Gardens complex, outside Philadelphia, Brecher is on track to set new benchmarks for 2007. Brecher’s vast market knowledge and strong leadership abilities were significant factors in his success.

Eli Rosen, Assistant Vice President
Voted Gebroe-Hammer’s 2006 salesperson of the year, Eli Rosen spearheaded the firm’s expansion into the Philadelphia market approximately three years ago. Rosen quickly reached sales volume of $150 million and 1,860 units in 2006 and is on course to exceed that amount in 2007. He credits his success to a hands-on approach that emphasizes personal service.

Steven Follman, Sales Associate
In four years at Gebroe-Hammer, Steven Follman has distinguished himself through his strong sales record and his personable approach to his transactions. In July 2006, Follman completed the sale of Mountainside Apartments in Garnerville, N.Y. The 227-unit garden apartment complex sold for $27 million. Follman recently completed several transactions in New Jersey including the $11.25 million sale of Chestnut Court, a 100-unit multi-family complex in Matawan, N.J.; $5.3 million sale of 101 West Main Street, a four-building 50-unit apartment complex in Clinton; and the $4.1 million sale of a 40-unit complex at 702-704 Fifth Avenue in Asbury Park.

Jay Lombardo, Sales Associate
Only four years out of college, Lombardo is already a top sales associate for Gebroe-Hammer, spearheading multi-million dollar deals in some of the wealthiest and most competitive regions in the state. Notable transactions brokered by Lombardo include the $8.6 million sale of Preakness Commons at 437 Valley Road in Wayne, N.J.;  the $2.4 million sale of Crestview Arms, a 17-unit apartment complex in Belleville; and the $1.1 million sale of 267 E. 31st Street in Paterson, N.J., a 12-unit multi-family building. The Paterson sale involved a record per-unit price for that market.

Greg Pine, Vice President
In only seven years with Gebroe-Hammer, Greg Pine has emerged as one of the firm’s top brokers and a true company leader. In addition to being Gebroe-Hammer’s primary broker in the competitive Bergen County region, Pine also supervises three sales associates in Elizabeth, Jersey City and Morris County. He recently completed nearly $25 million in three sales including five buildings and 197 units in Hackensack.

David Oropeza, Executive Vice President
In his 22 years in the business, David Oropeza has sold more than $1.7 billion worth of real estate consisting of more than 20,000 multi-family units. Oropeza has become one of Gebroe-Hammer’s top salesmen and has cultivated a reputation for honesty and integrity. His extensive market knowledge is without peer, and his leadership skills have made him a recognized industry expert on inner-city real estate investment sales.

David Jarvis, Vice President
In nearly 14 years at Gebroe-Hammer, David Jarvis has become an expert in inner-city real estate. During that time, Jarvis has sold more multi-family units in Newark than any other broker in the state. Jarvis’ expertise also expands beyond the cities. In June 2007, He completed the sale of Ridgewood Commons, a landmark mid-rise in South Orange for $12.3 million. The sale also included an adjacent 15,000-square-foot commercial center. In addition, he recently completed the $8 million sale of the Hudson Valley Apartments, a garden apartment complex in Garnerville, N.Y., and was involved with the $8.6 million sale of Preakness Commons, another complex in Wayne, N.J.

Avi Oren, Vice President
Avi Oren is currently completing his 10th year at Gebroe-Hammer. Oren distinguishes himself with a strong financial background previously spending time working in a New York accounting firm. Using his financial knowledge, Oren is capable of creating deals that best capitalize on a property’s value for both buyers and sellers. In the summer of 2007, Avi Oren brokered the sale of New England Village, a multi-family garden apartment complex in Summit, N.J., for $30 million. The 16-building, 133-unit property was built, owned and managed by the same family since the 1950s. Properties of this size and quality in affluent communities like Summit rarely go on the market and are highly sought after by investors.

Robert Ploshnick, Managing Director
With more than 30 years in the commercial real estate business, Robert Ploshnick has negotiated in excess of $2.5 billion in sales. As a managing director, Ploshnick has helped guide Gebroe-Hammer Associates from a small company generating sales volumes of $50 million per year into a dominant industry force with annual sales volumes in excess of $1 billion. He has recently overseen a number of major deals including the $135 million sale of the Lynnewood Gardens complex in Elkins Park, Pa.
